Dayne-Anthony Renwick Morrison (23), also known as ‘Chiké’ was born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica. The name Chiké is commonly given to Nigerian (Igbo) boys and is of West-African origin, in modern English it translates to ‘Power of God’.
Chiké has always had a passion for oratory and the visual arts. He received his education at the Queen’s Preparatory School, then at Jamaica College, where in 2001 he was awarded ‘Regional Winner’ of the ‘Optimist International Oratorical Competition’, he then received basic training at the Edna Manley College of Visual Arts, and from there he went on to the University of the West Indies, where he is currently pending graduation for his B.A. in Media and Communication, with specialized focus in Multimedia.
Chiké began working with RETV as a presenter in 2006 after winning an onstage audition at school. In 2010, he was a part of the award-winning team, and recipient of the 'Youth View Award', for ‘Review’ in the ‘Best TV Show’ category. As a journalist he presses to blaze a unique trail although he admittedly models his craft after great stalwarts in media and draws energy and inspiration from his contemporaries. His style of delivery is clear and concise, and his presentations can sometimes be laden with anything from humorous blooper-reels to philosophical ramblings.
